I decided that this should be the last post before the EOYS :O. It shall be sth interesting (and confusing), on syllogymansium, which I came across in a book.
Here's a test. There are seven arguments to assess, and you'll have to say whether each one is valid or invalid. Don't look at the bottom till you're done. So take out a piece of paper and start doing now:)
2) If acupuncture tended to make people ill, then it would be foolish to try it.
Acupuncture does not tend to make people ill.
THerefore, it is not foolish to try it.
3) All men are bastards.
Some bastards are attractive.
THerefore some men are attractive.
4) Today isn't both sunny and cold.
Today isn't sunny.
Therefore today is cold.
5) No vegans are fish eaters.
Some fish eaters are not vegetarians.
THerefore some vegetarains are not vegans.
6) If I work hard, I'll pass my exams.
If I don't work hard, I won't pass my exams.
7) All politicians are liars.
No person of integrity is a politician.
Therefore, no person of integrity is a liar.

Ok, the results are really simple. All seven of these syllogisms is invalid.. :)
Cool right?? yup.. It turns out that I'm too lazy to explain anything, or too busy. Ok, I'll explain after EOYs, meanwhile, have fun googling around :)
A more light hearted post now. I shall just drop some things which isn't worth it to care about, and focus on what's important.. :)
